5Boys love to cook  Sep 17, 2009
My 3 year old grandson loves this toy. It was bought together with the matching sink and he is having a great time with them. Pizza is almost ready.

5Great Kids Toy!  Aug 14, 2009
Purchased this product for a busy children's clinic. It is easy to put together, well constucted and study. I purchased a 2nd stove for a different office. It holds up well. It's a great buy and worth every dollar!

5Nice toddler stove  Apr 11, 2009
I bought this stove for my two year old because she always wants to cook when mommy is in the kitchen making dinner. I received it yesterday and we've already had a lot of fun making carrot and mushroom stew - sometimes with plastic eggs.

When I was researching toddler kitchen equipment I was concerned about materials. The frame, door handle, knobs, and front instrument panel of the stove are made of solid wood. The painted side panels and back panel are made of hardboard. The unpainted portions of the stove top and bottom expose hardboard. The oven door and inner shelf are completely painted but their smoothness suggests hardboard as well. So, the structural elements are all solid wood but the embellishments are mostly hardboard. This might be as good as you can do if you want wooden toddler kitchen equipment given that other brands seem to have no solid wood but use particle board for structural components. (BTW, the see-through oven door is acrylic).

The item was well wrapped so that the pieces arrived undamaged. The package includes ten screws with a hex-wrench and two screws (to attach the oven door hardware) that require a phillips-head screwdriver. I think it took me about a half hour to put the oven together (with my toddler's help of course). The wooden pieces fit together well but not exactly. The tongue-in-groove panels are well set into the piece (I can't imagine them popping out as they have in similarly designed pieces of furniture that I've had experience with.)

This stove is the perfect size for my 39-inch tall child and I could see her playing with it if she grew another foot is height. The box says that it is designed for ages three plus. Since my child is still in a pseudo-climbing stage, she has made a slightly annoying habit of standing on the open stove door. The stove is light enough to easily move around but not so light that it feels un-sturdy.

The only drawback that we've experienced is that the stove tips when we are trying to open the oven door. I would suggest bolting the stove to the wall for a smaller child so that they don't become trapped if they were to hang on the handle and it were to fall over on them. There are two 1-inch diameter holes in the back panel of the stove which would make bolting quite simple without damaging the stove itself.

In all, I like this stove and think we are going to have a lot of fun with it.

5Kitchen Play for Toddler  Apr 09, 2009
First, we just purchased so I rated everything high because I expect it will live up to expectations. I did not realize the choices when it came to play kitchens. I had picked out the Little Tykes all in one kitchen until I saw it at Toys R' Us. This could be the right kitchen for you but I really wanted a set that seemed more life like and larger so that our toddler wouldn't grow out of it. However the sets that weighed around 100lbs when fully assembled did not appeal to me either. I am a very particular shopper so I studied all choices and dimensions. This set is an in between dimension. There are smaller toddler versions and larger school aged choices so I thought this would be a good fit. Right now our two year stands on tiptoes to reach the knobs on sink and back burners on oven. The pieces (we purchased oven, sink, and refrigerator) are easy to move so I can take them room to room and move them around. It took my husband 2hrs to put all three pieces together. It took awhile to unwrap the items because they were all double wrapped and well packed so we had no damaged or scratched pieces. Everything was really well prepared for assembly so no problems putting them together. Only one concern is that the shelves slide into grooves with no fasteners so I am not sure how much they will hold. A couple of pieces weren't quit perfectly square but perhaps that happens with wood and wood products. It is not enough to be noticeable when fully put together. The colors are bright and fun. This is the perfect set for our family.
