This toy is fun. While the chopping kinds of toys may appeal mostly to the younger 3-6 group, this Sushi set is cool for older children 6-12 who still enjoy pretend play. Wasabi, soy sauce, and ginger slices add a sophisticated touch for more mature kids interested in international cuisine. The quality is excellent with the sushi pieces cutting apart with a crispy sounding velcro zip. The pieces are stored in a cute little bento box. Add a little culture to your children's play toys.

My son's been coming w/us to the sushi restaurants so I thought this was cute for Christmas. I love that they're all velcro'd so he can grab them easily with his chopsticks. Not to mention, the box that it comes in is an actual wood box & very cute as well. I thought it was a different alternative to the same old food toys...plus, I just love Melissa & Doug wood toys!

My son is now 3 years old and still loves to play with this (and all other M&D products similar to this one). It's fun for them to cut the food and also use their imagination. He chewed on them and threw them when he was little and they still look great.

...than our 3 year old niece. We thought it was a cool idea but really, most 3 yo do not "get" sushi. It's well made and all but she did not know the parts. Of course, she played with it anyway but I wish we had purchased something she would have recognized rather than trying to get something unique.

A cute wooden toy by Melissa & Doug. The sushi pieces are great as are all the accessories. I would recommend this product.
